            For the Majority of homeowners I suggest the 300 series or 500 series.  These mowers feature full hydrostatic drives to stand up to the rigors of more stressful tasks.  Medium sized yards benefit from the smooth dependable power of this series.  Jobs such as snow plowing, blowing, tilling, rolling, and grading become easy with the 300 and 500 series.  Price ranges from about 2000 dollars to approximately 6000 dollars.  The durability of the tractors guarantees fair trade-in-value.  Homeowners will appreciate the quality John Deere exhibits in the x300 and x500 series.

            Supreme quality comes from the x700 series.  John Deere engineered the tractors with rugged tuff torque transmissions and options including diesel engines with four-wheel-drive.  The tractors can be equipped with a front end loader for loading and landscaping around the house.  This series is built to last and will satisfy anybody’s needs in a small tractor.

            John Deere tractors offer various configurations and sizes to fit the needs of many people.  In addition to tractors they make Wide Area Mowers, zero turn mowers, and walk behinds.  When looking for a lawn mower please do not go buy a mower from a home improvement warehouse.  Spending a little more now will help reduce costly expenses in the future.     

Gator 4x4 XUV Better Than All the Rest

            2011 brings many new technologies such as the Iphone to Verizon, new 3-d LED TVs, and now new Gators from John Deere.  The new 2011 series offers new top speeds and offers more capabilities on the job and as a recreational vehicle.  John Deere Gators come in a variety of configurations with John Deere’s top of the line Gator XUV 825i 4x4.  The company still offers the original configurations of the Gators, as well as compact models. 

            The first of the Gators suffered from rusting utility beds and sluggish speeds of 20-miles-per-hour.  The new 825i offers a heavy duty plastic cargo bed that no longer rusts, 44 mph with a 50 horsepower three cylinder engine, and two range CVT transmission.  Payloads of 1400 pounds get the job done fast.  Stable double wishbone suspension hugs tight corners, and ungulates with the dips on the trail.  Owners of previous models tried to stand up to Deere’s competition with highly accessorized and customized models.  John Deere offers most of these sought-after options from factory.

            John Deere Gators can leap over the current industry leaders with the new configuration.  Kubota RTVs, and Polaris rangers cannot compete.  Factory cabs are offered on the Kubota and Gator but the Polaris cab is a dealer installed accessory.  The John Deere cab offers superior views with the most glass area of any cab.  John Deere offers digital dash displays with Polaris and Kubota offering standard mechanical displays.  The display lights up to better view the Gator’s status at night.  Other advantages include center consoles, flatbed capabilities, and superior styling.           

            John Deere leads the Agricultural industry, and now the recreational Utility Vehicle industry with the 2011 John Deere Gator XUV.  Options and feature place the John Deere on the forefront of the UTV market.  Multiple accessories for the Gator make it fit for duty in the swamps, trails, snow, pasture, and woods.  The best in class comes with a hefty price of over 10,000 dollars, well worth the money to be deemed better than all the rest.  I personally believe that the new Gator better suits the UTV market better than any of the competition’s products.

John Deere Creates New Line of Cab Tractors

Today’s consumer product industry becomes increasingly popular nowadays, with new products showing up every day.  John Deere, producer of agriculture, construction, and residential equipment jumps to the forefront of the residential industry with its new 3000 series tractors, specifically the 3720 model.  I recently acquired one of the new 3720s for about two weeks, just enough time to fully review all the features of the new tractor.  

For starters, the overall style overall style of the machine proved useful yet stylish.  At first glance one notices the large cab.  The pressurized climate controlled cab offers 15,000 BTUs of heating and cooling capacity, the cab proved itself as a valuable option on the hottest and coldest of days and plenty of room.  Operator comfort greatly increased with the optional Air ride suspension seat creating a smooth ride on the roughest terrain.  I enjoyed driving the tractor both night and day with headlights in the hood and the top of the cab facing forward, as well as lighting in the rear.  Both comfort and style in the new John Deere 3720 take the typical compact tractor’s format and throw it out the window.

During the two weeks a 110-year-old oak tree fell down on my property.  The trunk measured approximately four feet in diameter.  I attached a set of pallet forks on the front-end-loader to help clean up the mess.  The optional skid-loader quick attach system easily allowed conversion from bucket to forks in about a minute.  I used a chainsaw to saw the logs into reasonably sized sections.  The smeel of fresh cut wood lingered in the air.  The loader lifted each two foot long section of the trunk without being squirrely in the rear.   The tractor exhibits the best of all compact tractors in one convenient package.  The power of the tractor impressed me greatly.  While using the tractor for both loader work, and three-point-hitch implements the 43 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine purred right along.  I also then used a 6 foot wide John Deere MX6 rotary cutter to mow my back field filled with 3-foot-high grass and a few thick shrub bushes.  The engine’s minimal vibration at 2500 RPM and above made the task enjoyable.  Four wheel drive saved me from getting stuck in the knee deep mud in on area of the field. The tractor takes all of its power and uses it efficiently and when its most needed.

After the two week period I was sad to see the tractor leave, and would buy one of the tractors without question. John Deere created the best series of smaller cab compact tractors compared to New Holland Case IH, and Kubota.  All the tractor’s features proved perfect for the small 5-acre farm I live on and would suit any farm smaller than 20-acres.  Since then the summer days have changed to winter, with its storms and colder temperatures I find myself wishing I could plow winter’s worst in the comfort of the heated cab.        

Record Breaking Giants to Roll Off the assembly line at Case IH

Agriculture division of Case IH launched a new series of four-wheel-drive Steiger tractors for 2011.  The new tractors offer new power durability, comfort, and productivity needs for the North American farmer.  Industry leading horsepower ratings of 660 peak horsepower for the largest model and 390 horsepower for the smallest model, place Case IH as the leader in the constant race for power among agricultural tractor companies.  Higher horsepower tractors can also receive Case IH’s exclusive Quadtrac design, which replaces the rubber tires with four independently suspended rubber tracks, an option necessary to reduce soil compaction.  These new tractors offer a multitude of various configurations.

Case IH continued with the Steiger’s legacy of strength in the new designs.  The signature red paint color stands out in the field.  Style of the new machine remains classic yet flashy and streamlined and pleasing to the eye.  Steiger tractors hold a long record of  using half-inch thick steel frames to withstand the toughest of agricultural use, a featured trait in the new designs.  The use of the half-inch thick frame holds up to the stresses of construction use, making the tractors suitable for the toughest of field work.  The Steiger’s long wheel base adds weight as well as increases driver comfort for those jobs that require pulling power in rough conditions.  Tractors weight varies however the largest 600 model weighs 44,046 pounds with an option of adding up to 21,000 pounds in ballast. Case IH’s new line of Steiger’s leads the Industry in strength and power.

Operator Comfort reaches a new level in the machines.  The new Multi Control Armrest combines all tractor operations into one central location in the cab.  Controls lie within easy reach and may be changed with minimal effort.  A small screen on the front of the armrest allows the operator to view all tractor functions, such as engine RPMs, MPH, and torque rise at a quick glance.  The new seat swivels 40 degrees to the right and left minimizing neck strain.  Cabs jump into the twenty-first century not only with radios, but also power outlets for cell phones, laptops, and MP3 players.  The leather seat and new exclusive suspended cab option resemble features found in luxury cars.  Operators find themselves in comfortable climate control environments with minimal stress and fatigue over a long day of field work.

            Environmental impact becomes increasingly vital in new machines with diesel engines each day.  Engines in the new Case IH meet Tier 4A emissions standards using SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology which breaks down exhaust, with Diesel Exhaust Fluid, into water vapor and nitrogen.  Other manufacturers use processes like EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) to meet Tier 4A emissions requirements.  Case IH says “It’s important in high-horsepower engines to minimize heat as much as possible, by avoiding EGR we don’t have to deal with any additional exhaust heat to cool” (Case IH).  The SCR offers increased longevity and performance in the Steigers. 

            All of these options combine to make one fine piece of machinery.  At a list price of more than $250,000 the new technology comes at a hefty price tag.  To many this is the cost of their house however, the benefits of the new larger tractors pay off eventually. Price tag shock has become common among all tractor manufacturers.  When a farmer wants the best it comes at a price.  Case IH has a long history of reliability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction, an advantage over some newer brands that have recently entered the U.S. market.  Personal preference of color plays a role in choosing a new machine more than ever, but quality remains in the well established companies like Case IH.
